Deborah Wong - Featured Poet & Handmade Specialist

Simplicate Online is pleased to collaborate with Deborah Wong, a handmade specialist and poet from Malaysia. We're so glad to feature her in our store and to promote her work internationally. Here's a little information about her:

Deborah Wong was born in Kuala Lumpur and raised in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. She graduated from the University of London with a degree in law, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Insurance. She worked as an insurance manager in an insurance agency for seven years before attending a summer intensive creative writing stint at the University of British Columbia. Her poems and short stories have appeared in Ditch, Poetry Quarterly, Haiku Journal, Three Line Poetry, Inwood Indiana Press, Anak Sastra, Coffee Shop Poems, Red Fez, Mad Swirl, Banana Writers, Vox Poetica, Wish Poetry Press, Eastlit, The Tower Journal, Message In A Bottle Poetry Magazine, Crack The Spine, Streetcake Magazine, The Stray Branch, Be Happy Zone, East Jasmine Review and Eksentrika.

Deborah reviews poetry submissions for Eastlit and is also the Editor-in-Chief of ZiggyZag Arms Poetry Journal. She had started WanderInkZ Creative Services in April 2016 to market her photo frame poetry. At about that time, one of her best friends needed a handmade birthday card. Deborah then stepped in to create one, and from there she started her line of handmade cards with origami assemblages and handwritten words. She takes time to source unique materials, stressing on work that's of quality rather than mass production.
